Hi everyone! I’ve been away for a bit. I wanted to report that although I missed a couple of posts, I completed my workout to the end of week five. The following week, I had an office move at work. It was an 11-hour day, so I decided to skip the gym and went to bed at 8:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, I had a workout session with my trainer. I asked if we could do the shoulder workout, which is what was scheduled, but at the last minute, she changed it up a bit due to the numbers in our group.
We did some shoulder work, but we also did a bit of back work as well. A workout I would soon regret.
On Wednesday, my back was a bit sore, so I wisely decided to take another day from training to let it rest. On Thursday, there wasn’t much of an improvement, so I skipped another day. Friday was a repeat of Thursday.
Saturday, I could barely move. And there you have it. I’ve been completely sidelined by my back again. Back to not being able to sit in one spot for very long. Back to not being able to lie down for very long. Barely sleeping because my entire back screamed every time I turned. Not being able to bend over at all. Making my bed on my knees. Sigh.
Luckily for me, or maybe not, I was off the following week (which is this week). I’ve been doing nothing but recuperating. I’m glad the weather has been somewhat shitty, because I really would have been upset if it was gloriously sunny, and I was stuck inside because I couldn’t move.
I scheduled an extra appointment with my chiropractor and my massage therapist. Not much else I could do other than rest.
I’m pretty sure the wood chopper exercise is what put me out like this. I will never do that one again. I was doing so well with the program.
In the meantime, I’ve decided to take drastic measures to heal my back. If it’s the same as last time, I have chronic inflammation. To clear this inflammation ASAP, I signed up for a five-day juice cleanse. I want to clear all the toxins from my body and get healthy as fast as I can.
I am planning to continue the program where I left off…the start of week six.
Stay tuned for a post on my experience with the juice cleanse. I’m on day four. I can finally eat food again starting Tuesday. I’m looking forward to that.
