Woke up bright and early this morning and prepared for my 30-minute drive to meet with Christina. I made it with five minutes to spare before our session started. I was surprised when I arrived with only five-minutes’ lead time. I usually have at least half hour before my session starts. I typically do my cardio warm-up before hitting the weights.
Needless to say, I warmed up as fast as I could hoping that it was enough to take me into leg day.
When it was time, we dove right into my program. I’m glad that Christina is flexible enough to run through the program with me. I like doing it with her, because she can check my form and make sure I’m doing things correctly.
This leg workout was quite challenging. I’m anticipating I’ll be sore for a few days at least. Last week, I had DOMS for about three to four days. It wasn’t pretty. While it doesn’t feel good to be walking around in pain for that long, it does please me to know that my muscles are building and repairing. My hamstrings were pretty tight, so this time around, I have to be sure to stretch those out in addition to my foam rolling and hip flexor stretches.
